About Us

I have always been drawn to mid-century commercial illustration. The tailored suits. The soft brushwork. The way light hits a face just right. There is something incredibly intentional about 1950s advertising art that I have loved for as long as I can remember.

As a kid, I would wander antique stores for hours. I was fascinated by the old prints and vintage wall art tucked between furniture and glassware. I loved the colors, the posture, the confidence in those images. But even then, I noticed something I could not quite name at the time. I never saw faces or bodies that looked like mine.

As I learned more about the history behind this art form, I discovered that even though the finished images often lacked representation, many illustrators working within and around that era were people of color. The talent was there, but what was missing was visibility.

This project began as a way to imagine what it would have looked like if we had always been centered in those compositions. To place people of color inside the same period spaces, the same elegance, the same quiet confidence I admired growing up.

I create these pieces because I love this art form. And I believe we belong in it. Designs take some time to create and put together, so please be patient with us.

If you have ever loved vintage aesthetics but never quite felt included in them, this is for you.
